Favorite Cookbooks

Hello there!  How’s your day going?  It should be going good because it’s Wednesday and more than likely a short week for you!  It is for me as well!

I’ve been working on a new dessert to share with you guys.  Just a bit more editing and you will see it (hopefully in the next day or so.)  In the meantime, check out some of these cookbooks that I get my inspiration from.

From Top:

The Flying Biscuit Cookbook <– A gift from a friend. Down home southern cooking.  This is an actual real-life restaurant in Atlanta. It’s on my list to visit.

Pillsbury Baking <– A gift from my husband.  My first actual cookbook.  This is great for beginners!  It has quick recipes and also more in-depth recipes.

Baked: New Frontiers in Baking <– A wedding gift. This is a bakery in Brooklyn that I also have yet to go to.  I know, I’m horrible.  They have such beautiful pics!

The Modern Baker <–For the more experienced baker but written well enough that even a learning baker can understand what’s going on.

The Essential Baking Cookbook- Bay Books <–couldn’t find a website for this one.  It has a little bit of everything and even tells you the skill level of each recipe.  There are troubleshooting questions in the beginning.  The book is British so some of the ingredients may be difficult to find in a standard grocery store.

I love collecting cookbooks and I have so many more that I want.  There’s just something about the photos and having the paper page to turn that makes me so happy.  Not to mention, I always worry about spilling something on my laptop when I have it in the kitchen.

What cookbooks do you own and love?

Okie Dokie, I’m off to finish that blog post I was telling you about!  Happy Reading!

Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all.  -Harriet Van Horne
